When the match had gone on for 28 minutes, Percy Figueiredo put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Nelsinho Mangueira. After having played for 31 minutes, Waldemar Mota managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sarandi E.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Waldemar Mota was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Waldemar Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wiliam Guimarães having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelson Garcia in the 35th minute of play forced Sarandi E.C.'s goalkeeper Nelsinho Mangueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Percy Figueiredo struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Nelsinho Mangueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sumidouro SC. Nelsinho Mangueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Percy Figueiredo in the 57th minute of the match. In the 58th minute Nelson Garcia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelsinho Mangueira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Dida Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
