The tension between the Souzel AD and the Striker FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 24 played minutes Souzel AD got a freekick which was hit by Silvério Lima. Gerson Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. José Vítor Romero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dráusio Veiga in the 31st minute of the match. 33 minutes into the match, Striker FC's Dráusio Veiga sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Vítor Romero narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Dráusio Veiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Souzel AD's zone, Philippe Coutinho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerson Freire missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 47 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Sydney Leme right hand side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After a rather tough play, Souzel AD's Doriva Maia got a free kick in the 51st minute. After recieving a nice pass, Striker FC's Ahmet Harun Canalp tried to score from far away in the 52nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Striker FC's Sydney Leme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gerson Freire in the 56th minute of play. Sydney Leme made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leonel Chaves in the 57th minute of play. If Leonel Chaves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dráusio Veiga in the 77th minute of play forced Souzel AD's goalkeeper José Vítor Romero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leonel Chaves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sydney Leme having to interfere. Sydney Leme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerson Freire in the 84th minute of the match. In the 89th minute, Dráusio Veiga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
