Nando de Senna came out of the goal and Adelino Romero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Conrado Paiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 5th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ivo Andrade during the 8th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. If Anselmo Antunes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nando de Senna made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Cristian Velasco sent off a good shot on target. Anselmo Antunes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eduardo Bastos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuca Carioca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Conrado Paiva struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Nando de Senna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for A Zorra. If Adalmo Teles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cristian Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as A Zorra's Délio Trigo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nando de Senna. That made the score 1-0 after 37 minutes of play. Samuca Carioca kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After 41 played minutes Chuvarada got a freekick which was hit by Perivaldo Arósio. After a defensive mix-up in Chuvarada's zone, Cristian Velasco stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nando de Senna came out of the goal and Cristian Velasco tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nando de Senna made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Velasco in the 46th minute. A hard shot 48 in the game by Adelino Romero from a close distance when the talented Nando de Senna managed to make a qualified save. Chuvarada's players were relieved. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Conrado Paiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristian Velasco in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nando de Senna prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Inácio Zonta fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chuvarada's protests and gave Inácio Zonta a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Chuvarada fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 56th minute. Penalty! Edgard das Neves placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Adelino Romero's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nando de Senna read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Nando de Senna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrado Paiva in the 73rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Cristian Velasco managed to get in a good position for a shot. A Zorra's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Velasco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nando de Senna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Cristian Velasco's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Nando de Senna was relentless in the 78th minute of the game.
