The audience thought a goal was coming when Haroldo Negri got free with Cristiano Moreno in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dino Arruda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albertino Matorin having to interfere. With a little luck, Marilândia FC's Cristiano Moreno got control of the ball when Haroldo Negri tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Léo França in the 29th minute of play forced Negao's goalkeeper Albertino Matorin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristiano Moreno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agnaldo Matos, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After 81 played minutes Negao got a freekick which was hit by Bernardinho Moura. Léo França received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. The Marilândia FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Marilândia FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
