Through an outstanding action, after 8 minutes, Frederico Castro successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Varzearia AD's Carlos Fernando Pirani got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frederico Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rubens Brodel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Washington Matorin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wiliam Gaspar in the 14th minute of play. Belchior Prado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederico Castro having to interfere. Rodriguinho Pirani's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Washington Matorin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Rubens Brodel might have been able to make a better finish in the 30th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Frederico Castro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rubens Brodel ran back to his position shaking his head. A hard shot 32 in the game by Rubens Brodel from a close distance when the talented Frederico Castro managed to make a qualified save. Umburaninha's players were relieved. Frederico Castro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rubens Brodel in the 44th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rubens Brodel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Rodriguinho Pirani managed to get in a good position for a shot. Umburaninha's supporters rose to their feet, but Rodriguinho Pirani was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Washington Matorin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Umburaninha's Luiz Paulo de Lima got a free kick in the 57th minute. Jarbas Santana, 57 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rubens Brodel in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Frederico Castro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Frederico Castro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rubens Brodel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodriguinho Pirani succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-1 in the 65th playminute. Carlos Fernando Pirani struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Frederico Castro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varzearia AD. If Rubens Brodel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
