In the 45th minute Claudinei Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Bittencourt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Claudinei Andrade got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Oséas Melo made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Juquitiba's zone, Jefferson Trancoso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Umberto Cunha came out of the goal and Jefferson Trancoso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Clube Atlético Tupã's Sérgio Bittencourt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claudinei Andrade in the 60th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Dedé Ceresso's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sérgio Bittencourt was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Sérgio Bittencourt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudinei Andrade, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Juquitiba booed when Clube Atlético Tupã was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Belmiro Fernandez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Clube Atlético Tupã's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claudinei Andrade was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Juquitiba's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
