After some careless play in the Sport Club Indaiatuba defense, Enéas Pinheiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Valdemar Marinho. The Sport Club Indaiatuba fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valdemar Marinho should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Elano Pimenta took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Dráusio Ferreira to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nestor Almeida in the 20th minute of play forced Sport Club Indaiatuba's goalkeeper Valdemar Marinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Valdemar Marinho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Abraão in the 21st minute of play. Valdemar Marinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nestor Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After taking down the ball on Massuim's corner Adilson Prata fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Valdemar Marinho quite easily take care of the ball. Amadeu Macedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dráusio Ferreira having to interfere. Osvaldinho Cearense recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Elano Pimenta managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sport Club Indaiatuba's supporters rose to their feet, but Elano Pimenta was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dráusio Ferreira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Massuim's Dráusio Ferreira got control of the ball when Elano Pimenta tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Sport Club Indaiatuba getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Elano Pimenta hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Nestor Almeida managed to get in a good position for a shot. Massuim's supporters rose to their feet, but Nestor Almeida was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valdemar Marinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 43rd minute of the match Falcão França shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valdemar Marinho showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 44th minute Nestor Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdemar Marinho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Ronaldinho Custódio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Massuim's Dráusio Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elano Pimenta in the 93rd minute of play. Massuim were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
