Fred Schmidt made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 7 minutes into the game, Gabriel Freitas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Embauval SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cunhupuca EC the free kick. After 7 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Embauval SC! In the 9th minute there was a penalty for Cunhupuca EC. Armindo Campidelis stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Flávio Valle. 1-1. A collision led to Embauval SC getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Josué de Andrade hit a great ball. In the 15th minute of the match Armindo Campidelis shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Flávio Valle showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Vitinho Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zeca Vasconcelos took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fred Schmidt. Fred Schmidt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Embauval SC's Flávio Valle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Embauval SC from getting a goal against them. When Zeca Vasconcelos came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Embauval SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zeca Vasconcelos couldn't finish the play. If Zeca Vasconcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vitinho Sampaio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fred Schmidt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. Cunhupuca EC's Fred Schmidt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vitinho Sampaio in the 37th minute of play. Zeca Vasconcelos might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fred Schmidt. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zeca Vasconcelos ran back to his position shaking his head. Zeca Vasconcelos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 42nd minute, Demy de Ridder hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 44th minute of the match Armindo Campidelis sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Flávio Valle skillfully saved the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zeca Vasconcelos to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Embauval SC's Zeca Vasconcelos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fred Schmidt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Fred Schmidt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeca Vasconcelos, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Cunhupuca EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 57th minute, when Zeca Vasconcelos scored to the left of an out of position Fred Schmidt, making the score, 1-4. Demy de Ridder took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 63rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fred Schmidt. Cunhupuca EC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A hard shot by Demy de Ridder from long distance, 65 minutes into the match, got Fred Schmidt's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Cristóvão Pitta shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. After 69 minutes, Zeca Vasconcelos made it 1-5 with a short kick to the right side. Cunhupuca EC's Fred Schmidt tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Embauval SC's Zeca Vasconcelos got a free kick in the 73rd minute. After 74 played minutes Cunhupuca EC got a freekick which was hit by Elias de Castro. The supporters of Embauval SC booed when Cunhupuca EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elias de Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was beautiful to see Embauval SC's Cristóvão Pitta in action when he in the 77th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Zeca Vasconcelos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 82 played minutes Zeca Vasconcelos rounded Cunhupuca EC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-6. In the 87th minute, Zeca Vasconcelos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 97th minute, Zeca Vasconcelos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fred Schmidt was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-7. Embauval SC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
