Aírton Brito received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Glauco Barreto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Adolfo Ceresso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fred Schmidt having to interfere. Roma's Glauco Barreto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aírton Brito in the 22nd minute of play. After 25 minutes Roma's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Armindo Campidelis who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Armindo Campidelis got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Glauco Barreto quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some careless play in the Roma defense, Aírton Brito kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Glauco Barreto. The Roma fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Glauco Barreto should have stopped the shot. Roma's João Adolfo Ceresso got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 34 played minutes Roma got a freekick which was hit by Juninho Munhoz. Jairo Secco hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. During the 38th minute of the match Juninho Munhoz completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Juninho Munhoz a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 39 played minutes Roma got a freekick which was hit by Juninho Munhoz. When Vinícius Arantes came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Cunhupuca EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vinícius Arantes couldn't finish the play. Glauco Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinícius Arantes, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After 56 played minutes Cunhupuca EC got a freekick which was hit by Tiago Vidal. A collision led to Roma getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Yuri Neves hit a great ball. If Aírton Brito had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Jairo Secco fell near the penalty area in the 75th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Roma's protests and gave Jairo Secco a yellow card for diving instead. Jairo Secco kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 80th minute João Adolfo Ceresso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Schmidt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Glauco Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinícius Arantes, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. 83 minutes into the match, Roma's goalkeeper Glauco Barreto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aírton Brito. João Adolfo Ceresso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th minute João Adolfo Ceresso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Schmidt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Noel Galvão's late challenge caught a Roma's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Noel Galvão helped the player get up and apologised. In the 91st minute, Noel Galvão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If João Adolfo Ceresso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
