An unexpectedly hard shot by Umberto Paraibano in the 18th minute of play forced Cabedelo's goalkeeper Walmir Pitta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zeca Toscano kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Elano Zanette sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Caracois's Leopoldo Cunha didn't even have to move. Gino Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo Cunha having to interfere. Gino Costa hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Márcio Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo Cunha having to interfere. In the 84thth minute of the game Gino Costa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caracois's Leopoldo Cunha was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Caracois's goalkeeper Leopoldo Cunha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Márcio Neiva. Gino Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo Cunha having to interfere. Leopoldo Cunha made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Márcio Neiva sent off a good shot on target. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Caracois's goalkeeper Leopoldo Cunha, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 95 minutes, Gino Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cabedelo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gino Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The Caracois fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Cabedelo were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
