The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vito Martins showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dedé Massa, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. A collision led to Corinthians Mineiro FC getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Dedé Massa hit a great ball. After having played for 10 minutes, Teodoro Schmidt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Corinthians Mineiro FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teodoro Schmidt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Corinthians Mineiro FC's Dedé Massa got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 17th minute Chico Marquez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laércio Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 18th minute, Delfim Zonta got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Corinthians Mineiro FC's Teodoro Schmidt got a good chance for a goal in the 20th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Chico Marquez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 27 minutes, Gláuber Custódio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Corinthians Mineiro FC and the Formos SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gláuber Custódio kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Delfim Zonta in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Laércio Azevedo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Laércio Azevedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Chico Marquez went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 46 minutes into the game, Delfim Zonta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Laércio Azevedo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dedé Massa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Teodoro Schmidt fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Corinthians Mineiro FC's protests and gave Teodoro Schmidt a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Corinthians Mineiro FC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Daniel Trigo was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 59th minute. Formos SS's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When the match had gone on for 61 minutes, Delfim Zonta took a quick shot and it went in 0-4 without a chance for Laércio Azevedo to make any attempt to save it. Formos SS's Chico Marquez got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Delfim Zonta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Laércio Azevedo managed to avoid a goal in the 69thth minute, when Formos SS's Delfim Zonta fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Chico Marquez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Laércio Azevedo made a huge save. Geovani Loyola kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. In the 78th minute Delfim Zonta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Laércio Azevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 79 minutes, Chico Marquez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Chico Marquez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Formos SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Chico Marquez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laércio Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Delfim Zonta came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Formos SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Delfim Zonta couldn't finish the play. Formos SS played a much better game than Corinthians Mineiro FC and deserved their victory. The Corinthians Mineiro FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
