The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Vicente Dante managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clube Do Penedo's supporters rose to their feet, but Vicente Dante was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Murilo Reis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 10 minutes into the match, Clube Do Penedo's goal looked a bit too open when Raí de Almeida came free, but Danilo Cavalcante reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute of the match, Vicente Dante got a very nice opportunity to score, but Murilo Reis was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Clube Do Penedo's Danilo Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raí de Almeida in the 16th minute of play. Isaltino Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Murilo Reis having to interfere. When Tiago Monteiro came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Ijaci AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tiago Monteiro couldn't finish the play. 28 minutes into the game, Rodriguinho Zanette was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ijaci AD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube Do Penedo the free kick. After a rather tough play, Ijaci AD's Rodriguinho Zanette got a free kick in the 28th minute. Isaltino Massa kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Ijaci AD's Murilo Reis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 34th minute of the match, managed to save Ijaci AD from getting a goal against them. Tiago Monteiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Ijaci AD's Tiago Monteiro got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Raí de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Raí de Almeida made a kick off. If Raí de Almeida had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clube Do Penedo's Vicente Dante got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 65th play minutes Isaltino Massa shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Murilo Reis and just under the crossbar into goal. The supporters of Clube Do Penedo booed when Ijaci AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tião Senna didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vitório Cabral took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 70th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Murilo Reis. Ijaci AD's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. José Pedro França kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. In the 74th minute, Vicente Dante got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 77 minutes into the match, Clube Do Penedo's Isaltino Massa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Murilo Reis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Vicente Dante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 81 played minutes Ijaci AD got a freekick which was hit by Rodriguinho Zanette. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vicente Dante in the 82nd minute of play forced Ijaci AD's goalkeeper Murilo Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rodriguinho Zanette hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Vicente Dante received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Murilo Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Isaltino Massa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
