The referee ignored Arikemes FC's protests and gave Marco de Mendonça a yellow card for diving instead. In the 39th minute, Marco de Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Belchior Fantini took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 40th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jonas Meirelles. Arikemes FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 41st minute Patrick Paulista shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateus Fernandez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felipe Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mateus Fernandez having to interfere. Mateus Fernandez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulinho do Vale in the 46th minute of the match. Mateus Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
