An unexpectedly hard shot by Vinícius Mattos in the 3rd minute of play forced Thunders do Gu's goalkeeper Benedito Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Vinícius Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vinícius Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 13th minute, Afonsinho Rosa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benedito Guimarães was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 16th minute, Dorian Vidal hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 19 minutes into the match, Afonsinho Rosa notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Thunders do Gu's Benedito Guimarães. Benedito Guimarães was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Afonsinho Rosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Benedito Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thunders do Gu's Benedito Guimarães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vinícius Mattos in the 23rd minute of play. Benedito Guimarães came out of the goal in the 28th minute to try and stop a shot by Littles's Afonsinho Rosa. But to his dismay, Afonsinho Rosa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Cristiano Carioca hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. 32 minutes into the game, Littles's Vinícius Mattos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benedito Guimarães made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Benedito Guimarães came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Littles's Vinícius Mattos. But to his dismay, Vinícius Mattos quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. Afonsinho Rosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito Guimarães having to interfere. Benedito Guimarães showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinícius Mattos, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. 46 minutes into the match, Thunders do Gu's goal looked a bit too open when Afonsinho Rosa came free, but Benedito Guimarães reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vinícius Mattos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito Guimarães having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cristiano Carioca was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 54 minutes, Vinícius Mattos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Littles's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vinícius Mattos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Afonsinho Rosa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benedito Guimarães having to make a save. In the 60th match minute, Thunders do Gu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hortêncio Mangueira to maneuver through the defense. Vinícius Mattos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vitório Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Benedito Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benedito Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléberson Lima in the 76th minute of play. If Vitório Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Vitório Araújo might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benedito Guimarães. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Vitório Araújo ran back to his position shaking his head. Ademir Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Benedito Guimarães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cícero Soares hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cléber Cosme in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dida Leme saved Littles from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Thunders do Gu's zone, Cícero Soares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benedito Guimarães came out of the goal and Cícero Soares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Littles's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
