In the 10th minute Augusto Arantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edinho Paulista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Luís de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermínio Reis having to interfere. Edinho Paulista took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frédson Varela, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Pedro Luís de Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Leicester Pirituba FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pedro Luís de Azevedo couldn't finish the play. The referee ignored Macatuba EC's protests and gave Augusto Arantes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 18th match minute, Macatuba EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Augusto Arantes to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luizão Batista in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hermínio Reis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Augusto Arantes in the 22nd minute of play forced Leicester Pirituba FC's goalkeeper Edinho Paulista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frédson Varela scored 0-2 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edinho Paulista, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luizão Batista who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 32ndth minute tested the skills of Hermínio Reis when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 36th minute of the match Benê da Silveira shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edinho Paulista showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Leicester Pirituba FC's Luizão Batista in the 37th minute got a chance for a shot 37th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The audience was convinced that Luís Guilherme Guimarães's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edinho Paulista was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Macatuba EC's Benê da Silveira got a free kick in the 62nd minute. In the 74th match minute, Macatuba EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Quaresma to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Macatuba EC's zone, Luizão Batista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hermínio Reis came out of the goal and Luizão Batista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 78 minutes into the match, Alfredo Moura notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Macatuba EC's Hermínio Reis. Hermínio Reis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luizão Batista in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hermínio Reis saved Macatuba EC from getting behind. Alfredo Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Hermínio Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfredo Moura's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hermínio Reis read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. When the final whistle went the supporters of Macatuba EC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Leicester Pirituba FC side.
