A collision led to Papagaio getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Túlio Cordeiro hit a great ball. Deivid Neiva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Deivid Neiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ivan Chibulcutean sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rafael Prado hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Mendel Sartre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wesley Vergílio having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Mendel Sartre's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wesley Vergílio was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. In the 28th minute, Mendel Sartre got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Papagaio's defense didn't have a chance, in the 31st minute, when Mendel Sartre scored to the left of an out of position Wesley Vergílio, making the score, 1-0. After 34 minutes, Rafael Prado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Papagaio and the Gremio FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 34 played minutes Papagaio got a freekick which was hit by Rafael Prado. 39 minutes into the match, Papagaio's goal looked a bit too open when Mendel Sartre came free, but Wesley Vergílio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wesley Vergílio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mendel Sartre in the 41st minute of play. Mendel Sartre received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Wesley Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wesley Vergílio made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Ivan Chibulcutean sent off a good shot on target. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mendel Sartre made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Gremio FC's Mendel Sartre nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wesley Vergílio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Papagaio's goalkeeper Wesley Vergílio, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ivan Chibulcutean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Wesley Vergílio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mendel Sartre blasted a shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wesley Vergílio having to make a save. Ivan Chibulcutean received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. When Vladimir Dionísio fell near the penalty area in the 63rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Papagaio's protests and gave Vladimir Dionísio a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Papagaio's Vladimir Dionísio got a free kick in the 63rd minute. In the 64th minute, Mendel Sartre got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wesley Vergílio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mendel Sartre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mendel Sartre in the 74th minute of play forced Papagaio's goalkeeper Wesley Vergílio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Papagaio's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Chibulcutean came free, but Wesley Vergílio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mendel Sartre in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wesley Vergílio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 87th minute, Ivan Chibulcutean ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wesley Vergílio was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. 94 minutes into the match, Gremio FC's Mendel Sartre sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wesley Vergílio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. There was no doubt that Gremio FC were the better team. Gremio FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
