After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Baltazar Moura managed to get in a good position for a shot. Alunas SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Baltazar Moura was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luisão Cavalcante breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 22ndth minute of the game Baltazar Moura who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Itui SC's Luisão Cavalcante was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, João Paulo Valladares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Luisão Cavalcante made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when João Paulo Valladares sent off a good shot on target. Geovani Macedo kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. João Paulo Valladares might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luisão Cavalcante. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. João Paulo Valladares ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcelo Galvão hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Alunas SC's Baltazar Moura slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luisão Cavalcante. That made the score 0-2 after 89 minutes of play. In the 91st minute, João Paulo Valladares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Alunas SC booed when Itui SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basílio Vidal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Itui SC's Cristian Leme got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Alunas SC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
