The Pereirao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Severino Lopez should have stopped the shot. Jeferson Peres showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Murilo Albuquerque, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Severino Lopez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franklin Vargas in the 19th minute of the match. Murilo Albuquerque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jeferson Peres having to interfere. 27 minutes into the match, Pereirao's goal looked a bit too open when Michel Cearense came free, but Severino Lopez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Michel Cearense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Severino Lopez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 34th minute, Luís Fabiano Meireles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Pereirao's Murilo Albuquerque got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jeferson Peres took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Murilo Albuquerque, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the game, Claudinho de Andrade recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Severino Lopez. Claudinho de Andrade showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. A collision led to Pereirao getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Ramón da Cunha hit a great ball. After 70 played minutes, South Dortmund's Zé Paulo Marinho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Severino Lopez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in South Dortmund reached it. 74 minutes into the match, Pereirao's goalkeeper Severino Lopez had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zé Paulo Marinho. 77 minutes into the match, Sandro Lopes notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of South Dortmund's Jeferson Peres. Jeferson Peres was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
