Osmar Baiano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ademir Paranaense in the 11th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Sandro Lopes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Osmar Baiano was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. 16 minutes into the match, Pentagna's goal looked a bit too open when Murilo Albuquerque came free, but Osmar Baiano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pentagna's Osmar Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Fabiano Meireles in the 23rd minute of play. Sandro Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 34thth minute of the game Sandro Lopes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pentagna's Osmar Baiano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luís Fabiano Meireles in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Osmar Baiano saved Pentagna from getting behind. The Pereirao fans' excitement grew in the 43rd match minute when Pereirao's Luís Fabiano Meireles looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Ramón da Cunha hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After the first half Pereirao were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedro Augusto Loureiro made a kick off. Murilo Albuquerque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 57 played minutes Pentagna got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Augusto Loureiro. Luís Fabiano Meireles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osmar Baiano having to interfere. The corner led Pereirao's Ademir Paranaense to fire away a dangerous shot which Osmar Baiano despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Pentagna's Osmar Baiano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ramón da Cunha in the 64th minute of play. Pedro Augusto Loureiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Severino Lopez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pereirao's Murilo Albuquerque got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 82 minutes, Luís Fabiano Meireles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pereirao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Fabiano Meireles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Pentagna's goalkeeper Osmar Baiano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Fabiano Meireles in the 86th minute of play forced Pentagna's goalkeeper Osmar Baiano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
