When Basílio Proença came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Gurupa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Basílio Proença couldn't finish the play. Giuseppe Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilson Freitas in the 32nd minute of the match. After 33 played minutes Gurupa got a freekick which was hit by Rafa Chaves. In the 42nd minute Wilson Freitas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giuseppe Mendonça saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Giuseppe Mendonça came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Locomotives FC's Leonhard Perold. But to his dismay, Leonhard Perold quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rodriguinho Borges made a kick off. When Adelino Machado fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Gurupa's protests and gave Adelino Machado a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Gurupa's Adelino Machado got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Rodriguinho Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sidnei Damião made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Conrado Sein in the 60th minute of play. Júnior Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Sidnei Damião tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With an all-out effort, Locomotives FC's Giuseppe Mendonça threw himself towards the right post 63 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Wilson Freitas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gurupa's Giuseppe Mendonça proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 66th minute of the match, managed to save Gurupa from getting a goal against them. Gurupa's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Leonhard Perold 68 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-4. Giuseppe Mendonça was out of position in the 71 minute of play, and Wilson Freitas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Wilson Freitas really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. If Leonhard Perold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giuseppe Mendonça showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dênis Batista, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Giuseppe Mendonça came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Locomotives FC's Dênis Batista. But to his dismay, Dênis Batista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Gurupa's Conrado Sein got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rodriguinho Borges fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidnei Damião having to interfere. In the 93rd minute, Leonhard Perold left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Locomotives FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. The Gurupa fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Locomotives FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
