Luiz Fábio Vieira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Washington Rodrigues in the 22nd minute. 24 minutes into the game, Evangelion's Washington Rodrigues nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Luiz Fábio Vieira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Serginho Duarte fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Fábio Vieira having to interfere. In the 33rd minute, Ezequiel Quadros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luiz Fábio Vieira made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Bruninho Camargo sent off a good shot on target. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ipoeiras SC's goalkeeper Luiz Fábio Vieira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Bruninho Camargo took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luiz Fábio Vieira. Luiz Fábio Vieira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After 45 played minutes, Ipoeiras SC's Ezequiel Quadros shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alan Baptista came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Ipoeiras SC reached it. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Moisés Baptista was the one to do the kick off. Alan Baptista made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cícero Sampaio in the 53rd minute. Ipoeiras SC's Luiz Fábio Vieira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Washington Rodrigues in the 55th minute of play. Bruninho Camargo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Washington Rodrigues took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Luiz Fábio Vieira. Luiz Fábio Vieira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Cícero Sampaio kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Serginho Duarte scored 4-0 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Luiz Fábio Vieira, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Washington Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Luiz Fábio Vieira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 76 minutes into the match, Ipoeiras SC's goal looked a bit too open when Bruninho Camargo came free, but Luiz Fábio Vieira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Bruninho Camargo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luiz Fábio Vieira was relentless in the 82nd minute of the game. Washington Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Serginho Duarte might have been able to make a better finish in the 94th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Fábio Vieira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Serginho Duarte ran back to his position shaking his head. When Glauco Salles came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Evangelion fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Glauco Salles couldn't finish the play.
