José Augusto da Silva hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Leandro Barreto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hélio de Alcântara in the 25th minute of play. After some careless play in the Deliciosa EC defense, Hélio de Alcântara kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leandro Barreto. The Deliciosa EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leandro Barreto should have stopped the shot. The audience was convinced that Pedro Augusto Baiano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leandro Barreto was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. The Corinthians fans' excitement grew in the 32nd match minute when Corinthians's Pedro Augusto Baiano looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Norberto de Sena didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 43rd minute, which inside left pole to 3-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bruninho Queirós during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Corinthians getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Bruninho Queirós hit a great ball.

The referee ignored Deliciosa EC's protests and gave Donatello Abreu a yellow card for diving instead. Laércio Linhares kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. A collision led to Corinthians getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Hélio de Alcântara hit a great ball. Dênis Arruda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Norberto de Sena having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded Corinthians left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Deliciosa EC.
