To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 26 minutes into the match, Poxoreu's goalkeeper Luan Messias had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benjamim Ceresso. Benjamim Ceresso struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Luan Messias didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itapocu SC. Luiz Paulo Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute, Poxoreu's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Luiz Paulo Montenegro fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post.

Itapocu SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luiz Paulo Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 96 played minutes Itapocu SC got a freekick which was hit by Nilson Sena. There was no doubt that Itapocu SC were the better team. Itapocu SC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
