The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luciano Santos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Norberto Maranhense struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Dênis Velasco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LEGIONARIOS FC. After a defensive mix-up in Wolfgang's zone, Reinaldo Romero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dênis Velasco came out of the goal and Reinaldo Romero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. LEGIONARIOS FC's Percy Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Diguinho de Azevedo in the 12th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Wolfgang's Diguinho de Azevedo got a free kick in the 13th minute. 15 minutes into the match, Reinaldo Romero had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dênis Velasco. Wolfgang's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reinaldo Romero was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Cauã Munhoz scored 1-1 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Percy Valle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Diguinho de Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Percy Valle having to interfere. After some careless play in the Wolfgang defense, Reinaldo Romero kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dênis Velasco. The Wolfgang fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dênis Velasco should have stopped the shot. When João Paulo Donato fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wolfgang's protests and gave João Paulo Donato a yellow card for diving instead. João Paulo Donato hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luciano Santos in the 34th minute of play forced Wolfgang's goalkeeper Dênis Velasco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Luciano Santos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 41 minutes into the match, Wolfgang's goalkeeper Dênis Velasco had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reinaldo Romero. Norberto Maranhense received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dênis Velasco came out and tried to block the shot, but Norberto Maranhense slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 43rd minute. Wolfgang's Dênis Velasco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Wolfgang from getting a goal against them. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Reinaldo Romero scored 6-1 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dênis Velasco, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 74 minutes into the match, LEGIONARIOS FC's goalkeeper Percy Valle had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Diguinho de Azevedo. Jorge Fonseca hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Wolfgang's zone, Reinaldo Romero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dênis Velasco came out of the goal and Reinaldo Romero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Diguinho de Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wolfgang's supporters rose to their feet, but Diguinho de Azevedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Percy Valle breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luciano Santos took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dênis Velasco. Dênis Velasco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-1. In the 91st minute Reinaldo Romero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dênis Velasco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Reinaldo Romero fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dênis Velasco having to interfere. There was no doubt that LEGIONARIOS FC were the better team. LEGIONARIOS FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
