The Campozeiro Football Club fans' excitement grew in the 5th match minute when Campozeiro Football Club's José Paulo do Nascimento looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience was convinced that José Paulo do Nascimento's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eduardo Dracena was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. Cristiano Moraes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Rogério Vasconcelos made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Campozeiro Football Club's zone, Reinaldo Soares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rogério Vasconcelos came out of the goal and Reinaldo Soares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Erivaldo Mendonça kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. José Paulo do Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 30th minute, Oscar de Castro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. José Paulo do Nascimento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 43 minutes of play, Porto Sairú F.C.'s Cristiano Moraes made it 1-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rogério Vasconcelos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Oscar de Castro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Osvaldinho Faria didn't get a good kick on the ball. Afonsinho Koehler's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rogério Vasconcelos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Porto Sairú F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 86th minute, when José Paulo do Nascimento scored to the left of an out of position Eduardo Dracena, making the score, 2-4. Eduardo Dracena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Paulo do Nascimento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
