Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Nilson Sampaio started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nilson Sampaio in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Baltazar Melo saved Ferreira from getting behind. Erivaldo Varela fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Percy de Moraes having to interfere. 14 minutes into the match, Ferreira's goal looked a bit too open when Nilson Sampaio came free, but Baltazar Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Itacu's Percy de Moraes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erivaldo Varela in the 15th minute of play. Erivaldo Varela's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Percy de Moraes read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paulo José da Silveira during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 20 minutes into the game, one of Ferreira:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Nilson Sampaio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th match minute, Ferreira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luizão Valadares to maneuver through the defense. Nilson Sampaio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Baltazar Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ferreira's goalkeeper Baltazar Melo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jorge Souza made a kick off. After 53 played minutes Itacu got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Toledo. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nilson Sampaio in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Baltazar Melo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as Jorge Souza kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Percy de Moraes. That made the score 2-2 in the 59 minute of play. If Eliézer Quirino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 62 minutes of play, Itacu's Nilson Sampaio made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Baltazar Melo was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 75th minute, Nilson Sampaio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nilson Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Baltazar Melo having to interfere. 86 minutes into the match, Ferreira's goal looked a bit too open when Eliézer Quirino came free, but Baltazar Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Itacu getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Kléber Borges hit a great ball. Lenílson Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Itacu walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
