Douglas Gerber didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alejandro Labuga went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dida Breckenfeld in the 13th minute of play forced Aratuhype's goalkeeper Douglas Gerber to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Válbson Dionísio's late challenge caught a Montes Claros FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Válbson Dionísio helped the player get up and apologised. Aratuhype's Douglas Gerber played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dida Breckenfeld in the 17th minute of play. After 20th play minutes Dida Breckenfeld shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Douglas Gerber and just under the crossbar into goal. Montes Claros FC's Dida Breckenfeld got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dida Breckenfeld scored 0-3 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Douglas Gerber, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Douglas Gerber stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dida Breckenfeld's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. In the 45th minute, Gláuber Pinho made a precise shot to the right of Douglas Gerber. Aratuhype's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

Douglas Gerber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dida Breckenfeld, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67 minutes into the game, Dida Breckenfeld lined in a short shot 0-7 behind a frustrated Douglas Gerber. After having played for 71 minutes, João Vítor Marinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aratuhype's supporters crossed their fingers, but João Vítor Marinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Otávio Proença kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. Dida Breckenfeld let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 74th minute shot 0-8 at rihgt post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dida Breckenfeld in the 79th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Douglas Gerber saved Aratuhype from getting behind. Gláuber Pinho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 81 minutes into the game, Dida Breckenfeld lined in a short shot 0-9 behind a frustrated Douglas Gerber. The goalkeeper smacked the ball away after a great corner, but Dida Breckenfeld advanced and headed the ball into goal, 0-10 in the 88th minute. Douglas Gerber came out of the goal in the 91st minute to try and stop a shot by Montes Claros FC's Dida Breckenfeld. But to his dismay, Dida Breckenfeld quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-11. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dida Breckenfeld in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Douglas Gerber saved Aratuhype from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Waldemar Rosado during the 95th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match was over Montes Claros FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Aratuhype throughout the match.
