Yuri de Castro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 20thth minute tested the skills of Tiago Ribeiro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 23rd match minute, Gilboes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kléber Veloso to maneuver through the defense. Coxilha's Válbson Ribeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Coxilha's zone, Kléber Veloso stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiago Ribeiro came out of the goal and Kléber Veloso tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Gilboes booed when Coxilha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Válbson Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celsinho Linares kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Yuri de Castro struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Tiago Ribeiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gilboes. Tiago Ribeiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vítor Hoffmann in the 42nd minute of play. If Válbson Ribeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Gilboes players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Coxilha were winning 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vítor Hoffmann was the one to do the kick off. Abel de Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gino Lago having to interfere. The supporters of Gilboes booed when Coxilha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juvenal Nogueira didn't get a good kick on the ball.
