Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) After having played for 4 minutes, Breno Dracena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ponte Preta CS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Breno Dracena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Maurinho Couto struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Dedé Félix didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Xapuri. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Xapuri's goalkeeper Nilmar Mazza, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 30th minute, Maurinho Couto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Reynaldo Zonta fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Xapuri's protests and gave Reynaldo Zonta a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Ponte Preta CS booed when Xapuri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Reynaldo Zonta didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Agostinho Porto during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Agostinho Porto kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Percy Brodel in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dedé Félix prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 39th match minute, Xapuri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Chaves to maneuver through the defense. If Zé Paulo Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Percy Brodel to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Maurinho Couto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dedé Félix. Ponte Preta CS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Maurinho Couto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Breno Dracena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st minute, Cipriano Paskal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Reynaldo Zonta kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. After 65 minutes of play, Xapuri's Percy Brodel made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dedé Félix was left in no man's land by his defense there! Reynaldo Zonta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedé Félix having to interfere. Xapuri's Maurinho Couto got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 72nd minute, Breno Dracena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Percy Brodel in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dedé Félix prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Nilmar Mazza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Breno Dracena, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. 88 minutes into the match, Ponte Preta CS's goal looked a bit too open when Percy Brodel came free, but Dedé Félix reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Ponte Preta CS's zone, Percy Brodel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dedé Félix came out of the goal and Percy Brodel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Maurinho Couto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Xapuri fans cheered their team off the field, for while Ponte Preta CS had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
