Rodriguinho Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Barral having to interfere. 7 minutes into the match, CRAC Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Fernando Baptista came free, but Gijs Rijkaard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wanderson Azevedo charged in rather forcefully in the 8th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Wanderson Azevedo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of CRAC Football Club booed when Pirangussu EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wanderson Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Wanderson Azevedo scored 1-0 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gijs Rijkaard, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Luís Fernando Baptista scored 2-0 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gijs Rijkaard, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, CRAC Football Club's Amadeu Pires got a free kick in the 19th minute. Alexandre Pato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário Barral having to interfere. Alexandre Pato recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alexandre Pato received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Mário Barral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Dorin Băbescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mário Barral was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcelino Rebustillo made a kick off. Gijs Rijkaard showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wanderson Azevedo in the 53rd minute of the match. If Marcelino Rebustillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute, Dorin Băbescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Marcelino Rebustillo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Mário Barral. That made the score 3-2 in the 60 minute of play. Gijs Rijkaard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Fernando Baptista, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Rodriguinho Dantas hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. A collision led to CRAC Football Club getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Yan Massa hit a great ball. Mário Barral made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcelino Rebustillo in the 73rd minute of play. A collision led to CRAC Football Club getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Elói Brito hit a great ball. CRAC Football Club's Elói Brito quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Felippe Travassos, made in the 76th minute of the game. Wanderson Azevedo took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gijs Rijkaard. Gijs Rijkaard dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. In the 84th minute Cauã Esteves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gijs Rijkaard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, CRAC Football Club's Alexandre Pato sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mário Barral narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 88 minutes into the match, Wanderson Azevedo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gijs Rijkaard. CRAC Football Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wanderson Azevedo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-2. Pirangussu EC's Mário Barral played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelino Rebustillo in the 94th minute of play. Many of CRAC Football Club's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. CRAC Football Club may have spent more time on the ball, but Pirangussu EC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
