With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alexsandro Branco in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Henrique Carioca saved Nictheroi from getting behind. If Sabino Vasconcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 31 minutes into the game, Robinho Paranaense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Macunam's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Nictheroi the free kick. Sabino Vasconcelos scored 3-0 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Washington Alves, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 80 minutes into the match, Nictheroi's goalkeeper Henrique Carioca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dida Paraíba. Henrique Carioca acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 85th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Júlio Salgado. Washington Alves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sabino Vasconcelos in the 89th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alexsandro Branco in the 97th minute of play forced Nictheroi's goalkeeper Henrique Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
