With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomé Matorin in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ivo Brito saved Murityba from getting behind. Cássio Paraibano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Brito having to interfere. Pedrão Brasil hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. After having played for 18 minutes, Afonso Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Murityba's supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Seco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ivo Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from João Pedro Britto in the 38th minute of the match. In the 41st minute, Alessandro Sarmento ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Thiago Teixeira was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 46th minute Tomé Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and João Pedro Britto made a kick off. When Chiquinho Leal fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Murityba's protests and gave Chiquinho Leal a yellow card for diving instead. Murityba's Ivo Brito proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Murityba from getting a goal against them. Thiago Teixeira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Afonso Seco struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Thiago Teixeira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Murityba. João Pedro Britto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Brito having to interfere. Tomé Matorin was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 74th minute. Penido's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Alessandro Sarmento kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. 83 minutes into the game, Penido's João Pedro Britto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ivo Brito made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Tomé Matorin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Ivo Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomé Matorin was extremely unlucky when he, in the 93rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Thanks to some nice moves João Pedro Britto could shoot a difficult shot in the 94th minute, which Ivo Brito however easily saved by the left post. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Penido players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
