The Pirangi FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dé Guerra should have stopped the shot. 10 minutes into the match, Pirangi FC's goal looked a bit too open when Angelo Sampaio came free, but Dé Guerra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 15 minutes into the match, Angelo Sampaio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dé Guerra. Pirangi FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Angelo Sampaio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Angelo Sampaio in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dé Guerra prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Caio Paes, 21 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Dé Guerra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Angelo Sampaio in the 24th minute of the match. In the 26th minute, Luís Fábio Carneiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute Angelo Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dé Guerra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 28 played minutes Pirangi FC got a freekick which was hit by Zé Augusto do Nascimento. Dé Guerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelo Sampaio, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After the first half Jaguaretama AD were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Serginho Neves to make the kick off. Pirangi FC's André Ramos managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Caio Paes in the 79 minute of the game. A collision led to Jaguaretama AD getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Nelson Correia hit a great ball. After having played for 87 minutes, Zé Augusto do Nascimento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
