Inácio Melo succeeded in the game's 26th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-0. Inácio Melo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Paulo José Neto made a huge save. Cafu Furtado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Inácio Melo came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Paranaidji fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Inácio Melo couldn't finish the play. Paulo José Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Juninho Saraiva in the 39th minute of the match. After 43 played minutes Meninos de Ouro got a freekick which was hit by Juan de Carvalho. Inácio Melo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 45thth minute tested the skills of Paulo José Neto when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Juninho Saraiva made a kick off. Henrique Prata came out and tried to block the shot, but Cafu Furtado slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 76th minute. The supporters of Meninos de Ouro booed when Paranaidji was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antônio Santana didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Elói Lira during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Paranaidji's Rubens Luz got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 93rd match minute, Paranaidji was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bruno Bittencourt to maneuver through the defense. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded.
