But to his dismay, Cido Trevisan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Andrézinho Bueno came out of the goal in the 40th minute to try and stop a shot by Pune's Cristiano Trigo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Viana in the 44th minute of play forced Pune's goalkeeper Fabrício Moura to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cido Trevisan struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Fabrício Moura didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taquarinhas SC. Ian Valladares charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ian Valladares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ian Valladares hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. In the 50th minute Pune were awarded a corner. José Augusto do Nascimento went to the cornerflag to take it. A hard shot 51 in the game by Cristiano Trigo from a close distance when the talented Andrézinho Bueno managed to make a qualified save. Taquarinhas SC's players were relieved. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Fernando Viana fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabrício Moura having to interfere. In the 67th minute Cristiano Trigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrézinho Bueno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Christian Botelho's late challenge caught a Taquarinhas SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cido Trevisan couldn't finish the play. Vivaldo Pontes kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Cristiano Trigo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The Pune supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Taquarinhas SC's performance. The match ended with a win for Taquarinhas SC.
