Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. After 14 played minutes Palmeirante EC got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Severo. Gildo Seco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Netto in the 17th minute of play. Tomé Miranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Gildo Seco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Acucena SS's Sandrinho Quirino in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Caetano de Sena's late challenge caught a Acucena SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Caetano de Sena helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Palmeirante EC's Faustão de Brito got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 46th minute, Sílvio do Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

After a defensive mix-up in Palmeirante EC's zone, Sandrinho Quirino stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodolfo Britto came out of the goal and Sandrinho Quirino tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Caetano de Sena hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Tomé Miranda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Palmeirante EC's Rodolfo Britto proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Palmeirante EC from getting a goal against them. Sandrinho Quirino was extremely unlucky when he, in the 80th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Netto in the 88th minute of play forced Acucena SS's goalkeeper Gildo Seco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
