Walmir Maranhense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sidney Nascimento having to interfere. Roberto Moura scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Sidney Nascimento, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 28th match minute, Real Madrid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nestor da Cunha to maneuver through the defense. Sidney Nascimento showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roberto Moura in the 35th minute of the match. Roberto Moura took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sidney Nascimento. Sidney Nascimento dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. 42 minutes into the match, Itacira SS's goal looked a bit too open when Roberto Moura came free, but Sidney Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Roberto Moura struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Sidney Nascimento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Madrid. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Roberto Moura to make the kick off. Sidney Nascimento came out of the goal and Tales Barreto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Real Madrid's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
