Reynaldo Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Galvão having to interfere. With a little luck, GePeTaPa's Ciro Lopez got control of the ball when Jeferson Queirós tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rubens Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Simões, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. GePeTaPa's Reynaldo Simões got a good chance for a goal in the 14th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rodolfo Diniz in the 17th minute of play forced Himalaia's goalkeeper Rubens Galvão to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When GePeTaPa's Reynaldo Simões in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 25 played minutes Himalaia got a freekick which was hit by Edgar Nogueira. After a defensive mix-up in Himalaia's zone, Reynaldo Simões stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubens Galvão came out of the goal and Reynaldo Simões tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Umberto da Rocha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Rubens Galvão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 30 minutes, Ivo Figueiredo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Himalaia and the GePeTaPa players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rubens Galvão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Simões, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Umberto da Rocha recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Téo de Souza's late challenge caught a GePeTaPa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Téo de Souza helped the player get up and apologised. In the 47th minute, Téo de Souza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Manoel Toledo came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the GePeTaPa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Manoel Toledo couldn't finish the play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Reynaldo Simões to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Umberto da Rocha hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. GePeTaPa's attentive Aloísio Fernandes managed to snatch the ball when Ivo Figueiredo made a throw-in in the 87th minute of the game. Reynaldo Simões didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-3 via right post in the game's 88th minute. GePeTaPa's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! After 92nd play minutes Reynaldo Simões shot 1-4, a short shot which went by Rubens Galvão and just under the crossbar into goal. Reynaldo Simões fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubens Galvão having to interfere. In the 97th play minute Umberto da Rocha came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Rubens Galvão. 1-5.
