Spectators: 6608 (Terracing: 5408, Seating: 1150, VIP seats: 50) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Zé Pedro Quintal started the match with the kick off. In the 3rdth minute of the game Frédson Saldanha who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ceveira FC's Fred Ferreira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Sidney Simão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Neropolis getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Andrézinho Catarinense hit a great ball. Sidney Simão blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fred Ferreira having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sidney Simão in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fred Ferreira saved Ceveira FC from getting behind. In the 32nd minute, Reginaldo Salles got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Fred Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frédson Saldanha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 40 played minutes Neropolis got a freekick which was hit by Amauri Toscano. Manfredo das Neves took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Fred Ferreira. Ceveira FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ceveira FC's Giuseppe Dracena got a free kick in the 44th minute. If Frédson Saldanha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When Frédson Saldanha came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Neropolis fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frédson Saldanha couldn't finish the play. Sidney Simão recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 57th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ceveira FC's goalkeeper Fred Ferreira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fred Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sidney Simão in the 59th minute of the match. In the 66th minute, Reginaldo Salles made a precise shot to the right of Fred Ferreira. Ceveira FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amauri Toscano in the 70th minute of play forced Ceveira FC's goalkeeper Fred Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ceveira FC's Fred Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Simão in the 73rd minute of play. Ceveira FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 79th minute, when Sidney Simão scored to the left of an out of position Fred Ferreira, making the score, 0-2. Ceveira FC's Fred Ferreira proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Ceveira FC from getting a goal against them. In the 89th minute Sidney Simão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sidney Simão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fred Ferreira having to interfere. Ceveira FC's Fred Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidney Simão in the 95th minute of play. A collision led to Ceveira FC getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Giuseppe Dracena hit a great ball.
