A very good chance for a goal. César Magalhães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Allan Sabóia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olavo Matorin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Cardozo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dráuzio Proença received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. César Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. César Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Allan Sabóia in the 14th minute of play. Dráuzio Proença's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but César Magalhães read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Sangue Azul FC's Geovanni da Mata got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Eduardo Vergílio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. César Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovanni da Mata in the 27th minute of play. When Erivaldo Barbosa fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sangue Azul FC's protests and gave Erivaldo Barbosa a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Paula SS booed when Sangue Azul FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erivaldo Barbosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dráuzio Proença fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Magalhães having to interfere. Geovanni da Mata recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. César Magalhães took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from André Velasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute, Geovanni da Mata got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Geovanni da Mata made the kick off in the second half. After 55 played minutes Paula SS got a freekick which was hit by Germano Correia. In the 59th minute Carlos Eduardo Vergílio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Olavo Matorin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Geovanni da Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. But to his dismay, Geovanni da Mata quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Sangue Azul FC's André Velasco got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 69 played minutes Paula SS got a freekick which was hit by Germano Correia. Allan Sabóia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edson Trevisan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Geovanni da Mata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Magalhães having to interfere. Olavo Matorin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Sangue Azul FC's Geovanni da Mata got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Allan Sabóia's late challenge caught a Paula SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Allan Sabóia helped the player get up and apologised. In the 85th match minute, Sangue Azul FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Allan Sabóia to maneuver through the defense. Paula SS's César Magalhães played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dráuzio Proença in the 89th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Sangue Azul FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
