Curuay's Chiquinho Mendonça played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gentza Tormes in the 10th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Curuay's Guto de Brito threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dráusio Secco, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. ILHA COMPRIDA SP's Tadeu de Brito got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Evaristo Queirós hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. ILHA COMPRIDA SP's Guto de Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dráusio Secco in the 24th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Curuay's Aílton Tande got a free kick in the 26th minute. Gentza Tormes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Chiquinho Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aksaka Aks kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Tadeu de Brito struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Chiquinho Mendonça didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ILHA COMPRIDA SP.

Guto de Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dráusio Secco, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Chiquinho Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tadeu de Brito in the 54th minute of the match. Tadeu de Britos short, quick shot in the 56thth minute got Chiquinho Mendonça to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Evaristo Queirós got in the 57th minute the ball and tried a long shot which scored to the left of Chiquinho Mendonça and thus it was 0-3. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Josué Prestes during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 62 played minutes ILHA COMPRIDA SP got a freekick which was hit by Josué Prestes. In the 63rd minute Dráusio Secco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guto de Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gentza Tormes might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Chiquinho Mendonça. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gentza Tormes ran back to his position shaking his head. Tadeu de Brito did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-4 to the left of a surprised Chiquinho Mendonça 72 minutes into the match. Guto de Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dráusio Secco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 81 minutes into the game, Olívio Saldanha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Curuay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ILHA COMPRIDA SP the free kick. A collision led to Curuay getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Olívio Saldanha hit a great ball. Chiquinho Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Adolfo Braga in the 82nd minute of play. Chiquinho Mendonça was a little too slow when Gentza Tormes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 85th minute. The score was now 0-5. Tadeu de Britos short, quick shot in the 90thth minute got Chiquinho Mendonça to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With his leg Chiquinho Mendonça managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when ILHA COMPRIDA SP's Tadeu de Brito fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Aílton Tande fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Curuay's protests and gave Aílton Tande a yellow card for diving instead. In the 93rd match minute, Curuay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aílton Tande to maneuver through the defense. 94 minutes in the game, Tadeu de Brito fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Chiquinho Mendonça having to interfere. Josué Prestes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Chiquinho Mendonça having to make a save. When the final whistle sounded ILHA COMPRIDA SP left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Curuay.
