In the 10th minute Juvenal Arantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldão Salgado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Juninho Hermes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rondon FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Juninho Hermes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronaldão Salgado breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Augusto Félix received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Marcinho Cavalcante tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of El Melhor booed when Rondon FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fernandinho Cosme didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcinho Cavalcante made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Augusto Félix sent off a good shot on target. Augusto Félix's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 28thth minute, Marcinho Cavalcante skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Marcinho Cavalcante was a little too slow when Sebastião Falcão got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 31st minute. The score was now 1-0. 34 minutes into the game, Augusto Félix cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Marcinho Cavalcante was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 43 minutes into the match, Sebastião Falcão dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marcinho Cavalcante, 3-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Juninho Hermes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Rondon FC's zone, Sebastião Falcão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcinho Cavalcante came out of the goal and Sebastião Falcão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 58 minutes into the match, El Melhor's goalkeeper Ronaldão Salgado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juvenal Arantes. Marcinho Cavalcante made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Félix in the 59th minute of play. Rondon FC's Marcinho Cavalcante played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastião Falcão in the 71st minute of play. In the 74th minute, Fernandinho Cosme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastião Falcão in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcinho Cavalcante saved Rondon FC from getting behind. In the 82nd minute, Duarte Cardoso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The throw-in from Luiz Rezende in the 84th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by El Melhor's Nelson Pena. Sebastião Falcão struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Marcinho Cavalcante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El Melhor. In the 88th minute the ball was on its way in behind Rondon FC's goalkeeper Marcinho Cavalcante, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Juvenal Arantes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Ronaldão Salgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Juvenal Arantes got free with Ronaldão Salgado in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Júlio Nunes kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. El Melhor fully deserved thier win.
