Piloes AD's Tony Magalhães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Piloes AD from getting a goal against them. 26 minutes into the match, Piloes AD's goalkeeper Tony Magalhães had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dorival Carvalho. Jacinto Damião received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Tony Magalhães tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Acácio Catarinense made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvério Vargas in the 33rd minute of play. 35 minutes into the game, Dorival Carvalho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Tony Magalhães was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Samuca Dionísio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Magalhães having to interfere. Piloes AD's defense didn't have a chance, in the 40th minute, when José Paulo Gaspar scored to the left of an out of position Tony Magalhães, making the score, 3-1. 5 de Janeiro FC's Acácio Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wilian Pinheiro in the 46th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Dorival Carvalho made the kick off in the second half. Silvério Vargas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Acácio Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tony Magalhães showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dorival Carvalho in the 66th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Dorival Carvalho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tony Magalhães was relentless in the 67th minute of the game.
