Mijo Futebol Clube's Cristiano Branco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Mijo Futebol Clube from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as S.C. Corinta Mineiro's Dé de Godoi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cristiano Branco. That made the score 1-0 after 19 minutes of play. A collision led to Mijo Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Kléber da Costa hit a great ball. Jorge Pinheiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Marcos Sampaio came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Mijo Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcos Sampaio couldn't finish the play. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 46th minute, but Cristiano Branco got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Mijo Futebol Clube hanging dry this time. After 48 played minutes S.C. Corinta Mineiro got a freekick which was hit by Donato Veiga.

Jorge Pinheiro stood somewhat misplaced when Marcos Sampaio came free in front of goal and shot 1-2 to the left of him in the 59 minute. 62 minutes into the match, S.C. Corinta Mineiro's goal looked a bit too open when Marcos Sampaio came free, but Jorge Pinheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Mijo Futebol Clube booed when S.C. Corinta Mineiro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iuri Trancoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Corinta Mineiro got a freekick which was hit by Iuri Trancoso. If Vitório Gaspar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Mijo Futebol Clube could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than S.C. Corinta Mineiro throughout the match.
