The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 3 minutes, Erivaldo Quintal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Potiguar Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erivaldo Quintal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Through an outstanding action, after 6 minutes, Horácio Vianna successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Marcelo Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 14 minutes, Róbson Coutinho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pentagna SS and the Potiguar Futebol Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Pentagna SS's Róbson Coutinho got a free kick in the 14th minute. Horácio Vianna was a little too slow when Nemanja Urošev got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 17th minute. The score was now 1-0. After 21 minutes, Erivaldo Quintal made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Pentagna SS's Horácio Vianna tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 3-0 became the score in the 25th minute when Erivaldo Quintal elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Christofer Aleberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Erivaldo Quintal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Potiguar Futebol Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Erivaldo Quintal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Horácio Vianna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 38 minutes into the match, Erivaldo Quintal dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Horácio Vianna, 4-0. Ricardinho Braga took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Maurício Zonta. Maurício Zonta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ricardinho Braga to make the kick off. The supporters of Potiguar Futebol Clube booed when Pentagna SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardinho Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 53rd minute, Erivaldo Quintal ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Horácio Vianna was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-1. Erivaldo Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horácio Vianna having to interfere. If Nemanja Urošev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Erivaldo Quintal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Christofer Aleberg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Horácio Vianna made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erivaldo Quintal in the 74th minute of play. In the 76th minute Erivaldo Quintal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horácio Vianna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nemanja Urošev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Horácio Vianna tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 82nd minute, Nemanja Urošev got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Erivaldo Quintal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horácio Vianna having to interfere. Erivaldo Quintal sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nemanja Urošev recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Erivaldo Quintal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Horácio Vianna came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Potiguar Futebol Clube's Erivaldo Quintal. But to his dismay, Erivaldo Quintal quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-1. The Potiguar Futebol Clube fans' excitement grew in the 94th match minute when Potiguar Futebol Clube's Erivaldo Quintal looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 8-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the referee ended the match the Potiguar Futebol Clube players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
