The referee showed Frederico Amaral the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Custódio Pires made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamim Rocha in the 33rd minute of play. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Valdo Paiva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Benjamim Rocha struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Vila Isabel FC's zone, William Terra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. An unexpected shot in the 57th minute by Benjamim Rocha got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Benjamim Rocha might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Custódio Pires. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benjamim Rocha ran back to his position shaking his head. In a very dangerous position, a player in Palestina FC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 61st minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 63 minutes, Vila Isabel FC's Luís Fábio Loureiro got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Custódio Pires. Benjamim Rocha was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Magno Donato recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute.
