Itatiba SC's Fábio Vale got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Rodrigo Toscano fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Itatiba SC's protests and gave Rodrigo Toscano a yellow card for diving instead. After 26 played minutes Itatiba SC got a freekick which was hit by Rodrigo Toscano. The supporters of Santana booed when Itatiba SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Róbson Leal didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Edgard Toscano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santana's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgard Toscano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juan Brodel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 71 minutes into the game, Fábio Vale cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Gualter Silveira was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dorival da Silveira in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gualter Silveira saved Santana from getting behind. Dorival da Silveira blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gualter Silveira having to make a save. Fábio Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gualter Silveira having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Itatiba SC's Fábio Vale got a free kick in the 84th minute. Dorival da Silveira struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Gualter Silveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Itatiba SC. Juan Brodel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Natanael Corrêa, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The Santana players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
