Geraldo Vaz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Eduardo Simão having to interfere. Tauatu Atletico Clube's Aleandro Salgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valério Marquez in the 25th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eliseu de Amaral during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Eliseu de Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. 36 minutes into the match, Morungava's goalkeeper Luiz Eduardo Simão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Geraldo Vaz. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valério Marquez in the 37th minute of play forced Tauatu Atletico Clube's goalkeeper Aleandro Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Geraldo Vaz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Luiz Eduardo Simão made a huge save. In the 41st minute of the match Gilberto Brito shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aleandro Salgado showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Geraldo Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Morungava's Luís Fabiano de Brito got a free kick in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Valério Marquez made a kick off. A collision led to Morungava getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Gilberto Brito hit a great ball. Luiz Eduardo Simão didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ronaldo Neiva went, in the 57th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Ronaldo Neiva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aleandro Salgado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Valério Marquez in the 73rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Valério Marquez in the 75th minute of play forced Tauatu Atletico Clube's goalkeeper Aleandro Salgado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 79 minutes into the game, Eliseu de Amaral recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Aleandro Salgado. Eliseu de Amaral showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. If Renatinho Baptista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aleandro Salgado made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Eliseu de Amaral sent off a good shot on target. The Tauatu Atletico Clube supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Morungava's performance. The match ended with a win for Morungava.
