Gugu Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Digo Tavares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jorginho Melo in the 14th minute of play. In the 17th minute Dedé Camargo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Digo Tavares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Gugu Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mengarda FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gugu Amorim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dedê Correia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Catanduva getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Natã Velloso hit a great ball. After having played for 25 minutes, Gugu Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mengarda FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gugu Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When César Novaes fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mengarda FC's protests and gave César Novaes a yellow card for diving instead. After 31 played minutes Mengarda FC got a freekick which was hit by César Novaes. Isaltino Jacinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Dedê Correia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isaltino Jacinto struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Dedê Correia didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mengarda FC. In the 36th match minute, Catanduva was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulo José Teles to maneuver through the defense. The Mengarda FC fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Mengarda FC's Gugu Amorim looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 40 minutes into the game, Catanduva's Jorginho Melo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Digo Tavares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The wind increased when Jorginho Melo made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Catanduva's Jorginho Melo fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. After 66 played minutes Mengarda FC got a freekick which was hit by Evandro de Queirós. When Jorginho Melo fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The Mengarda FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. After a defensive mix-up in Catanduva's zone, Gugu Amorim stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dedê Correia came out of the goal and Gugu Amorim tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jorginho Melo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Digo Tavares having to interfere. After 88 played minutes, Catanduva's Wiliam Albuquerque shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Digo Tavares came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Catanduva reached it. Catanduva's Dedê Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gugu Amorim in the 91st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Gugu Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mengarda FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gugu Amorim was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dedê Correia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. César Novaes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dedê Correia having to make a save. Mengarda FC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
