The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Carlos Fernando Trancoso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Carlos Eduardo Botelho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ivan Štefánik's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. 53 minutes into the game, Carlos Fernando Trancoso recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Luiz Fábio Cavalcante. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Carlos Eduardo Botelho prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ferdinand Connelly might have been able to make a better finish in the 67th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Carlos Eduardo Botelho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ferdinand Connelly ran back to his position shaking his head. If Ivan Štefánik had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ivan Štefánik fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Eduardo Botelho having to interfere. After 75 minutes of play, Pendurao's Jarbas Paes made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carlos Eduardo Botelho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Pendurao's Ivan Štefánik got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Saco FC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
